After a night of heavy snow, James wakes up from his room, plays in the snow, and finally builds a big snowman. At midnight, he thinks the snowman has magically come to life and sneaks downstairs to see him, he then encounters the revived snowman, shows him around his house, they play with the toys together.. Later, they find a motorcycle in the garden and they take a ride in the forest. The next morning, Christmas morning, when James wakes up, he sees the snowman melting and realizes that he has left only his hat, scarf, charcoal eyes in the snowdrift.. A little boy whose dog has just died moves into a house with a garden where a snowman once lived. The child who finds the photo of the snowman, remakes it, and from the remaining excess snow he makes a snow dog as well.
